What did you research?

From reading my old unit 02 evaluation

when researching this topic, I found it to be very interesting whereas at the start I was a little apprehensive at doing advertising photography. As I began researching the topic, I found out there were a lot of things to do in advertising photography. for example, I found event, charity, celebrity, food, fine art, product, travel, fashion, and architectural advertising. when I knew all the types I chose three to research and created mood boards for them and researched artists. The ones I chose were food, product, and charity which I later researched and found conservation came under charity work and advertisement and chose for my final idea.

I then started researching my final idea and finding out more about it, I then discovered that my favorite topic underwater photography came under conservation, which also included habitat, wetland, art, energy, photographing, plants, architectural and wildlife which linked to poaching, marine and human and wildlife conflict.

  • my strengths in this are that I am very passionate about conservation, I am determined to get to my goals, I am able to use software like photoshop and lightroom, I have patience and attention to detail and I am creative in thinking of new ways to do things

  • my weaknesses are that I lose concentration very quickly and I am not very good at teamwork, as well as if I chose underwater and marine photography I am not a very good swimmer and I have no idea how to scuba dive.

  • my opportunities are that I am helping advertise my sanctuary I work at part time, so I am able to get practice in the field.

  • my threats are COVID-19 at the moment as I cannot get very many places to do photography and I definitely cannot book scuba diving lessons.

I would like to continue researching this topic and finding out more about the conservation and charity side of things and maybe explore some other topics within advertising as well, as I found food and product interesting because I liked the simplicity of it with the white background and minimalistic side of it. I may also look at travel and architectural photographing because architectural is also simplistic and minimalistic which is what I like, but travel has the side of exploring different places and going places I wouldn’t normally go, and it would get me out of my comfort zone and try something new.

My next course of action is to research that topic and find out about different artists in that field of work and then to get out of my comfort zone to learn new things, I may not like it but I am willing to experiment with different things and maybe find something else I like and go different ways to find something I love doing. I never thought I would find advertising to be this interesting and love that my tutor suggested it to me as I got to do something new and found out I really liked it.

I can see that I was doing advertising photography and thinking of doing animal conservation in it.

what did you investigate within context?

Looking back on unit 04 I see that I wanted to do some form of documentation photography and see that I have branched off and gone onto my struggle with depression.

What would you need to create the ideal images for you in a NORMAL environment?
Are there any adaptations due to the current lockdown?

I hopefully just need my camera and access to the goats sanctuary field as that’s where I ended up overcoming a lot of my depression.

Do you need props, equipment etc?

  • camera

  • photoshop

  • goats

  • maybe lights that don’t need electric plugs as goats chew

Do you need locations or areas?

  • access to sanctuary

Do you need models or helpers?

  • No

Do you need anything else?

  • No
